William Freemon is a local native of Johnson City, Tennessee. He attended high school at Science Hill (go Toppers!) and Sullivan East. William is a graduate of East Tennessee State University, where he obtained a degree in history. William received his Juris Master and Juris Doctor degrees from Appalachian School of Law in Grundy, Virginia. While attending Law school, William completed an externship for the Honorable James T. Hamilton of the 22nd judicial district of Tennessee.

William began his legal career in Memphis, TN working for a firm which specialized in medical malpractice. William returned to Johnson City in 2015 to start his own general practice with an emphasis on criminal and family law. He practiced with a personal injury firm in Johnson City from 2019 until 2024.

William has served as Vice President of the Washington County Bar Association in 2017 and treasurer in 2018. William strongly believes that the practice of law is a privilege and he tries to give back to the community through zealous advocacy to the less fortunate of the region. This began while in law school, where William completed over 150 hours in community service working with the Grundy Lions Club and the Remote Area Medical Clinic, which provides health services in rural communities for those without insurance. Since graduating law school, William has been an active participant in Tennessee’s Access to Justice program which provides legal help to those who may not be able to afford an attorney.   William was recognized in back to back years  as an attorney for justice by the Tennessee Supreme Court for his pro bono work with indigent clients in 2017 and 2018.
